TeamViewer at work: commercial licensing

TeamViewer at work: commercial licensing — selection, terms and a business quote in Kazakhstan.

Personal and workplace use

Free personal use and supporting company employees are different scenarios. Even one employee connecting to a work computer may be using the product commercially. Do not build permanent support around an assumption that office activity will go unnoticed.

If access is restricted

Use the vendor’s process to establish why a connection was limited. Reinstallation, identifier changes or bypassing detection are not a legitimate operating plan. Select a commercial option for business work and check current terms.

Count operators and sessions

Five engineers do not always connect simultaneously. Record peak sessions, managed devices and operator shifts. Compare Remote Access, Business, Premium, Corporate and individually specified Tensor against the actual workflow rather than the order of their names.

Licensing does not replace security

Use individual accounts, MFA, device groups and least privilege. Enable unattended access only where needed. Remove a departing employee’s rights and review the logs. Passwords do not belong in a license-selection request.

Avoid renewal surprises

The owner should know the annual term, automatic renewal and cancellation-notice deadline. Retain order terms and a renewal calendar. Deployment and ongoing support are evaluated separately from the subscription.

Prepare a connection policy

Separate access to your own work computer from supporting other employees’ devices. For each group, state whether unattended access is allowed, how a session is confirmed and where logs are retained. The device list needs an owner: replacement laptops can otherwise leave permissions attached to old equipment.

Before broad installation, test supported operating systems and typical networks. Check that operators gain no unnecessary rights to other systems. Explain the connection purpose to the user and agree the work. The license package defines product-use rights, while the support procedure defines when an engineer responds and what work is included. Both documents are necessary.

Before deciding

This guide helps prepare questions; it does not replace the supplier’s current specification. Plan contents and program rules can change. Confirm the exact edition and entitlement at the order date, and verify implementation against agreed criteria.
